The Shagya Arabian is a horse breed that is quick and vivacious, usually having a gray coat. They come from what is known today as Hungary, and is very close to the Arabian horse. Finding a war horse that is altogether solid and quick, courageous and enduring, was the aim of the Austro-Hungarian government in 1798. So, they selected the best Arabian horses in order to create a horse as graceful as an Arabian, but stronger. |
